Dennis Huie to Discuss PAGA Compliance for California Employers at September Employment Law Summit
Rogers Joseph O’Donnell P.C. shareholder Dennis C. Huie will discuss what California employers need to know about the legislative reforms and rulings affecting the Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) on Sept. 12 at CenterForce’s 2024 Employment Law Summit.
Dennis will serve as a panelist for “The Future of PAGA: Key Reforms and Employer Strategies,” covering proactive approaches to managing and defending PAGA claims. His co-panelists are Julie Isen, senior corporate counsel at Apria Healthcare, and Cory Catignani, partner at Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease.
Panelists will discuss the California Supreme Court decision in Adolph v. Uber, reforms introduced by AB 2288 and SB 92, and best practices for revising arbitration agreements, implementing robust compliance programs and minimizing the risk of costly litigation.
Dennis co-chairs the firm’s Labor & Employment Law practice group, which represents and advises employers on complex wage-and-hour claims, state and federal whistleblower claims, discrimination, harassment and retaliation claims and wrongful termination actions. Dennis represents and defends employers in PAGA actions, class action lawsuits, individual cases and other representative actions and has served as risk management counsel overseeing complex disability and leave issues.
