Jon-Erik Magnus Presents at the BASF Environmental Attorney Program

Events

Rogers Joseph O’Donnell PC shareholder Jon-Erik W. Magnus shared his experience as an environmental lawyer at the Bar Association of San Francisco’s (BASF) third annual Environmental Attorney program. Close to 100 students were in attendance at the University of California Berkeley School of Law and the University of San Francisco School of Law.

The BASF Environmental Law Section’s Diversity and Pipeline Committee hosted the event at both schools in November. The Environmental Attorney program educates law students on a wide variety of work that falls under the banner of “environmental law,” giving students the opportunity to ask questions about the practice area in a small group setting. It also seeks to promote the practice area among minority law students.

“I always look forward to this program, and we had an incredible turnout this year,” Magnus said. “I appreciate the opportunity to describe a practice area that many law students are unfamiliar with. This next generation of law students was engaged and asked wonderful questions, which was very rewarding.”

Magnus is secretary for the Environmental Section’s Executive Committee and chairperson of the Diversity and Pipeline Committee. He represents a wide variety of clients, from Fortune 500 companies to small family businesses, in environmental law and retail trade matters. Magnus handles all aspects of this work throughout California and Washington state, including litigation, agency negotiations and administrative proceedings.
