Rogers Joseph O’Donnell Welcomes Former Army JAG Litigator Jules Szanton to Government Contracts Practice in D.C.

Rogers Joseph O’Donnell PC is pleased to welcome Jules L. Szanton as an associate in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. He joins the Government Contracts Practice Group.

Jules joins RJO with an extensive background in litigating disputes over government contracts. As a former trial attorney for the United States Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps, Jules represented the Army in 21 Government Accountability Office (GAO) bid protests in procurements valued at over $2.9 billion. He also litigated 10 Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals (ASBCA) cases involving more than $87 million of claims against the Army, and served as agency counsel in Army-related contract litigation at the Court of Federal Claims.

During his time with the Army, Jules held several roles, including legal assistance attorney, compliance attorney, military prosecutor, special assistant U.S. attorney and contract litigator. Jules also deployed to Afghanistan with the 1st Armored Division, serving as a legal advisor to United States Forces-Afghanistan.

Jules earned his J.D. from the University of Maryland Carey School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts in political science from Johns Hopkins University.
